Laparoscopic Probe CXS-OP-SZL
Description
For use in endoscopic surgery, at deep-set lymph nodes, minimally invasive surgery, lymph nodes in Cervical and Prostate Cancer and for research projects, for example with the presence of lymph nodes behind the sternum or in the lung area, there is a growing need for long narrow probes that fit through a trocar.
With a probe tip diameter of only 10 mm the probe has a sensitivity of up to 23,000 counts/s/MBq. The collimator is made of tungsten, is completely integrated and provides a side shielding of > 99% @ 140 keV. For several needs and applications 3 different laparoscopic probes are available that have the same parameters but differ in the "direction of view".
With the 3 probe types, the whole spectrum of applications is covered:
- 0° - sensitivity direction along the probe axis
- 45° - 45° to the probe axis
- 90° - orthogonal to the probe axis

The probes are optimized for an energy range about 149 keV (99mTc) and can be used for gamma energies from 70 keV (201Tl) up to 511 keV (PET). The laparoscopic probes are completely closed and work without changeable collimator sleeves.
The probe can not be protected by a sterile latex cover. Therefore sterilizing the whole probe including its cable by an appropriate sterilization method is needed. We recommend the low temperature plasma sterilization (T < 60° C) or the ethylene oxide sterilization. Steam sterilization is not possible.
